You would think Hertz would know about this restriction for travelers from USA. Attempted to call Hertz customer service for assistance ….. not one phone number worked.

Our rental was $450 US for a 9 day rental. With taxes and insurance, we ended up being charged $1600.00 US. We expected the bill to be around $800 with insurance, but $1600 seems outrageous, especially since we have rented comparable vehicles the last two years for around $700.

Nobody answered the phone at the LA office and I think that it might be impossible to get anything other than a bot on the main service number. I have never even remotely had an experience like this with Hertz or any other car rental company over the last 30-plus years of travel. Unacceptable.
