A friend has a cruise package including air , cruise, hotel etc that has a cancellation schedule and he bought a policy from Travelguard to cover the whole package . there is nothing keeping you from buying your own travel insurance policy just because you buy a vacation package from someone as that is quite common

The hard one is whether the airline will even give you a refund--or just a "travel credit". These are extraordinary times.....I would take a refund, no matter who or what I had booked. No one knows how the fallout and re-shaping of travel will go.

I tried to use their website to get the price quote with port charges and taxes included, and they sent my reservation to royal Caribbean to make the reservation without notifying me. I called them to cancel the reservation for me, because I have not made final decision which cruise to book.
22. Re: Costco refunds? 4 years ago. Hi, We had a Costco Travel Package booked the end of 2019 for Europe. And the trip was cancelled by Costco about one or two weeks prior to our travel plan. And Costco notified us through email and asked us to contact them for the trip cancellation. However, we're also instructed to call airline separately.

We contacted Costco Travel in hopes they would help us reason with Royal Caribbean and get a partial refund since this was a medical emergency. Costco Travel’s initial response was just to spell out the Royal Caribbean’s late cancellation policy: no refunds if the cruise is canceled within 30 days of the departure date.
Lots of people seem to book vacation packages to Maui through Costco. From what we hear on the forum most are very happy with the experience.
