I book my own travel and only have gotten AAA discounts in the USA at large chain hotels. When I go to Europe I use smaller local hotels or B&Bs to get more of the local flavor.
It is only for emergency assistance and doesn't cover medical costs. It does cover ambulance service, medical evaluation, nurse escort if necessary, cash advance for medical payments to keep medical care going if your credit card isn't enough. We are also looking for travel insurance since we are out of the country for 5 months of the year.
Thanks Douglas!! I do see now that other policies do have much better coverage than the one offered on the Aer Lingus site. I checked AAA, and our "travel" credit card. AAA was surprisingly expensive for the coverage they offered, and the CC max coverage was only 60% of our trip cost, (but obviously no extra cost for the policy).
