An express deal for $192 for 8 days of an economy car rental. Company revealed after purchasing, but guaranteed to be one of six. Other deals are at least twice that much if not more so it seems to good to be true.

When I got to the rental counter after an hour standing in line, the agent could not find any reservation for me.
I found your interesting research after noticing Priceline was about to charge me 30% in taxes and fees on a Price Breaker deal. Thank you for all the detail, which I found useful even though it could be summarized as one critic suggested as: "Maybe the title of your post is that PL charges different fees for the various booking options, and to always do the research or comparison?"

However time pressures sometimes means it’s easier to see the sort of prices on offer on an aggregator site rather than traveling through each supplier individually. I’ve learned a lesson though. 3 years ago. Kirk, you did not rent a car from Priceline, you rented from a rental company and had Priceline book it. That means you are held to the terms you agreed to with both companies. You are not entitled automatically to a refund because you had personal things go wrong.
Yesterday morning I booked a car rental from Priceline. I took a $40 Uber ride to find out that the Hertz location was closed on the weekends. I get it, there have been a lot of changes due to covid but it has been going on for months and they really should be verifying that the places they book reservations for are open before confirming reservations.
