We have not used Budget, but have rented from Avis the last few times we were on Maui. We come in March. My husband, who is the one who picks up the car, said the line for Budget was insane. It's right next to the Avis counter. He asked me to be sure NOT to rent from them.

Also, get a printed receipt at drop off, or at least make sure it goes through to your email right away. I rented through Budget at OGG last March.

1. Re: Budget car rental. Oct 29, 2023, 12:18 PM. Our last experience on Maui was in March of this year. We rented from Avis, whose counter is right next to Budget. My husband, who picks up the car, said the Budget line was HUGE, and the Avis line was very short, like none. He has asked that we never rent from Budget.
Yes, I used Maui budget cars for my 8 day rental May 15-22. I rented a 2007-2009 Suzuki, which was very clean inside and out. The car ran perfect, very cool air conditioning, working radio/CD, etc. No need to rent with a high price name brand rental company. My rental was half the price ($205) for 8 days.
