Multiple complaints have been filed with Trust Pilot rating agency against them where they have deceived their customers and have not reimbursed them as they promised for trips that have been canceled and unable to.be rescheduled.
I have often debated, with myself, buying trip insurance. Recently, I purchased a flight using KAYAK. As part of the flight purchase, KAYAK suggests protecting yourself with trip insurance. KAYAK (which does business as VAYAMA) uses Allianz for trip insurance. I took the bait and felt like my $1500 investment in tickets was protected.

I was trying to book Hilton Waikoloa Village for thanksgiving night and everywhere the nightly rates were around $780-$800 plus taxes and fees. This one website shows me the rate of $170 and with taxes and resort fees came up to $220.

Re: Beware: book flight through Kayak. Kayak is a search engine, you booked through one of the many third party agents who use their site. As others have said, book directly with the airline and don't complicate the issue by booking with some shonky agent, it's no cheaper and as you have found out to your cost. 5.

I tried to cancel it after 10 minutes and they wanted to charge me $50 cancellation fee. Waiting 10 minutes for a customer srvice agent and get a terrible service. NOT using KAYAK anymore.
