Agreed. Three things: 1) $11/ day liability ( mandatory ) over the base price without documentation (un advertised charges). 2). Car had dying battery, which died on our last day and prevented us from using the car to go to dinner (poorly maintained cars)

Rentalcars.com have good prices but only for Dollar and Thifty. I have been around the forums enough to know Dollar is a no go, but not so sure on Thrifty - they don't seem to come up as agencies ...
6. Re: rental car insurance (Thrifty) 15 years ago. I just got back from San Jose, Costa Rica and rented a car from Thrifty, a Jeep 4x4. Liability insurance is required by the government. Be careful as to what your cc will cover in a foreign country. It was $41.97 a day for full coverage. That included zero liability.
