Lulu, I suggest you contact TSA via email and get it in writing if you are permitted to take contact solution outside of the 3-1-1 bag. There is nothing on the TSA website that specifies the exemption. Print any positive verification and take it with you. You are supposed to declare any med liquids prior to scanning.

"3.4 oz of contact solution will last you for weeks" I agree with this. I rinse my lenses every night in a lens case, and usually carry the required solution in a 4 oz (120 ml) bottle, in my 3-1-1 bag.
11 reviews. 10 helpful votes. Flying with over 3 oz of contact lens solution. 10 years ago. The TSA website says all liquids must be less than 3 oz (technically 3.4, or 100ml) unless they are medications. I cannot find anywhere on the site the definition of "medication."
