You get to choose car size category and you are shown whether the rental is on location at airport before you ever make a final selection, as well as a list of agencies your rental may come from.
I just used Hotwire this last weekend for a week's rental of a full-size car at $8.95 a day plus taxes, about $120 total. I booked a non-refundable rental car on hotwire around January 20th, 2020. I paid in advance and found out that my car rental place was Sixt car rental. I have been communicating with hotwire for the last 2 days to cancel and get my CC refunded based on the coronavirus world crisis. Jetblue gave me full credit for my non-refundable fare.
From Hotwire, they have given me rates for cars that are in Hartford, CT which is a 1/2 hour away and in Windsor which is 10 minutes away and there is no rental car shuttle to that location, so you would have to get a taxi. I think Hotwire is disreputable to treat potential customers this way.
Renting a large car or SUV frm Orlando International Airport {MCO} & dropping it off as close to Ft Lauderdale cruiseport as possible. Has anyone ever used HOTWIRE or rented directly from car rental? I would prefer car rental directly @ airport without having to take shuttle. It will be 4 adults with 2 weeks worth of luggage.
I didn't use Hotwire, used Kayak. It was Dollar, the guy said it was about 1.5 mi north of the airport. 2400 Miami Road. That didn't work for me in many ways as I have two small children, arriving late after the off-airport rental location is closed.
