    5. Re: AAA services for trip planning and reservations. AAA for car rental does not always offer the best deals so shopping around is a good idea. The hotel sites that offer AAA discounts have a place where you select AAA rate which is about 15% when booking online or will give the discount when showing up on the day.

  3. Help needed - route through Ohio? - Ohio Forum - Tripadvisor

If you were to come through MI and enter Ohio on I-75, you could avoid I-80 and the tolls by taking Route 2 east to Cleveland. You'll switch to I-90 (follow the signs) near Lorain, OH. It's easy to switch to Route 2 off the Ohio Turnpike (I-80/I-90 combined), but would be more of a detour.

Thanks for the feedback. Wings1980 - I get that same route suggestion, with my intended route as an alternate. However, I previously posted about the overall route between the one you mentioned and my planned route (from Columbus to Morgantown, WV, and 68 to 70/270 into DC) and got unanimous feedback to take the route thru OH/WV/MD rather than OH/PA/MD from half a dozen people.

I'm not certain what the third route is, unless it's some variation of I-70/I-76, the Pennsylvania Turnpike, or I-86, which is further north and likely doesn't warrant consideration in December, especially with so little time for the trip.

10 years ago. If you are driving on Friday evening, 270 around the west side of town is a rush hour mess. If you are any time around peak traffic, take 71 South. Saturday evening 71 South should be no risk at all. You don't say what part of town you are staying that also will decide your route.

Best route is 70 to St Louis, then 44 to OKC, then 40 across to Flagstaff, then south thru Sedona. Stop when you get tired- there's plenty of options along the way.
