I returned from our trip to discover the AVIS airport rental in France had voided my oteoaid contract and arbitrarily charge my credit card 1,600 Euros for returning the car 1 hour late, when the late fee printed in the original invoice was 91.25 Euros per hour. I was told in August 8th I had to send an email to file a complaint.
The cars exterior was not washed and the interior needed vacuuming. No one at the counter could help me and they referred me to customer service. I did not get reimburse for the cost and replacement for the new cabin filter. As a National Car Executive member I thought I would give Avis a shot. I made a mistake. The counter staff was slow.

If the inside is dirty, they can charge $250.00. Ten minutes of vacuuming seems like there was more than a little dirt.

I emailed AVIS right away about this fee and explained to them that I never used or having been notified of their toll service and the explanation I got from AVIS was "To request a copy of your E-Toll charges, please visit www.e-tolls.com. To dispute Avis E-Toll charges please phone 1-866-642-2000.

They all work the same way -- you pay for a FULL tank of fuel before you leave the airport, then you return the car as close to empty as you are comfortable.
