On my very cheap Nokia there's an option in the Contacts menu to Copy a contact phone>SIM or SIM>phone. The information that can be stored on a SIM is a lot less than can be stored in the phone.

   1. Re: pay as you go mobile phones in UK. You may be making this more complicated than it needs to be (and possibly more expensive, too). If you have an iPhone 4S or newer, you can get a pay as you go SIM card. I'm sure this is possible with many Android phones, too, I just have experience with an iPhone.
