The only thing that could make Uber cheaper than renting a car would be not having to deal with parking fees if you are not able to find free parking on the street; otherwise it may not be much of difference between renting a car for a few days or making multiple trips with an Uber.

We had plans to go to a cocktail bar downtown and it would have been a $45 Uber at night from Waikiki to get there so we canceled the reservation, when I check the route during the day it was $25.    5. Re: Uber vs Renting a car. Jun 6, 2024, 7:19 PM. Hertz or Budget/Avis have weekend rates under $50 a day (less with AAA) and you'd be able to get around and see a lot more for basically the price of a couple daily Uber rides. So it depends on the parking charge at your hotel I guess.
