May 26, 2024, 4:20 AM. I had a horrible experience, I was charged $100 more than prepaid rental. I was told it was my fault for taking an upgrade. I did not take an upgrade, the car was as described on the reso. Thrifty customer service did nothing to help, just blamed me. Never rent w them.

We pre booked car rental prior to our arrival in LA. Thrifty persuaded us to change our chosen vehicle. After some time we were allocated a vehicle, started to load with our suitcases then got told to remove them. Because of their inefficiency & the time we had waited they offered a free upgrade. After 2.5 hours we finally left their car park.
Thrifty Car Rip off. After pre booking our hire car through Expedia and paying what we believed was the $160 USD for the 2 day hire, when we received the final account on our Visa card provided at the Thrifty counter, we had actually charged a further $246.38 USD fir the 2 day hire.
