I know if you book a bundle for air/hotel, the air is billed under the airline. For cruises, it is under the cruise company as well. So maybe the same for hotels.
It can take some time for the charge to appear on the credit card statement due to how payments are processed. There would have been a credit card authorisation for the amount before the e-ticket was issued to check funds were available. I wouldn’t worry. Expedia & LH have reassured you too that all is ok. The charge will show up sooner or later.

Depending how Expedia are able to book flights with BA, it could be there is a reservation & Expedia haven’t yet paid for it. The reservation would drop if payment is not made.

197. Re: Expedia credit card fraud - DO NOT BOOK with Expedia. NOT true in my case. The company listed on my statement is "TRAVELRESERVATION", but when you call the number listed (1-877-283-5585), they say they are Expedia, however, it is clearly NOT Expedia.

Regardless of how and whom it was paid to, the only way the wrong card was refunded can only happen if it was manually processed - rather than through the Expedia system. This can also mean Expedia May have manually processed it due to system issues.
