Agreed, this is maybe a little too much. I'd recommend doing your morning hiking at Bandelier rather than Tent Rocks to cut down the travel time a bit -- there's a "short cut" from Bandelier and White Rock (btw, if you get time, pause at Overlook Park in White Rock for a jaw-dropping view of the canyon of the Rio Grande) to Abiquiu and Ghost Ranch by way of NM 30 to Espanola.
