Be careful on Mapquest directions. Check it against another site or against a map to make sure they make sense. Last year my mapquest directions from RMNP to Denver airport took me around the bottom of Denver which was quite a ways out of the way, even though there was clearly an exit for the airport that could have gotten us there much more directly.
1) From PA-291 E, turn left onto Island Avenue. 2) Merge onto I-95 S via ramp on left toward Chester. 3) Turn left onto US-1/ Baltimore Pike/US-322. Follow Baltimore Pike. 4) Baltimore Pike becomes E State Street. Turn right onto N Walnut Street. 5) N Walnut Street becomes N Walnut Road. 6) End at Longwood Gardens.
MapQuest and Google are great for directions, and general basic information. However, for the most part, those given time estimates are based on point to point at the legal posted speed limit, under ideal conditions. There really is no hard and fast formula for converting those distances into real world drive times within the parks.
