Last year it was fined US$168 million for sleazy business practices, and a corporate culture like that doesn't go away very easily. I haven't heard of any scandals regarding Alamo, not that I've been looking for any.

We generally rent from them about 4x a year using the best discount codes and corporate codes available (by doing research online). Of course, I always print out a copy of the confirmation and take it with me.
