Like hertz you can get into their club for free if you have USAA or an AMEX plat or other such organizations. You can check flyertalk. I've never had a problem with hertz but I've always rented as a gold. And as the other poster did note Alamo has the convenience and ease of the kiosks.

If the rate is an AS deal that is pay now, you cannot add your membership number, but may be able to do so at the counter of the rental agency. Boo.

1. Re: Any good discount codes for Alamo Car Rental. Alamo a partner with Costco. If you are a Costco member book the car thru Costco travel. You get a minimum of 25% off any rate Alamo.com can offer. My deal was 25% off and $40 since I'm renting for 10+ days.
