The way I have done it:: Alamo has "Skip the counter option". Become a loyalty member with Alamo. Rent through Costco. Take the Costco/Alamo confirmation #, go to the Alamo site using your loyalty number. Look up your reservation with the # . When you checkin 48 hour or more hours before pickup you can chose the Skip.
49 reviews. 27 helpful votes. 3. Re: costco rental cars. 3 years ago. Yes, nothing wrong with reserving a rental car through Costco for next year but you can fully expect the price to drop many times between now and then. I booked an April 2022 car for a decent price and it's already dropped twice.
12 posts. Costco Car Rental. 3 years ago. Aloha! We are excited about our trip in September but wondering if we should cancel our current car rental reservation and book with Costco. We have a car booked for Maui and Oahu. Mostly looking to change in Oahu ..has cheaper rates through Costco but through Alamo and enterprise.
10. Re: Car rental through Costco by non-member. 10 years ago. Costco changed their procedure a couple years ago to require the Costco member number in order to make a reservation. Prior to that, pretty much anyone could book using their codes and the rental companies rarely asked to see the Costco membership card.
5. Re: Costco Travel rental car. 10 years ago. I booked through Costco a few weeks back, and for a 9-day, mid-size SUV rental in July I secured a rate of $240 (including all taxes and fees). I checked today and it's $540 now! My advice (not that anyone asked) is to secure a good rate and keep checking.
Answer 1 of 5: I wanted to share my experience. I think others have mentioned this in the past as well, which is why I kept checking back. I booked my car online with Costco a few months ago for two weeks on Maui end of Feb.
