What I don’t like about Hertz, they charge you each and every day of the rental, even if you never go through another toll. The max is $24 or so, but it’s just flat out wrong.

6. Re: Best car Rental in NY. 5 years ago. Save. I prefer to stick to well known reliable brands such as Hertz, Avis and Enterprise. If the price is too good to be true, it often is :) Dollar is probably okay too though I have no first hand experience with them. Report inappropriate content.
Additionally, LGA offers a wider selection of car rental companies and more flexible pick-up and drop-off options. Ultimately, the decision to rent a car from LGA or JFK depends on your travel plans and personal preferences. Consider the cost of the rental, parking fees, and your travel itinerary to make the best decision for your trip.
But if this time frame interests you I'd Google for one way rentals but also call a couple of the major car rental companies. I've only done this myself in the reverse direction - that is Florida to the northeast and that was at the end of May. I don't remember the car rental company for sure, but it might have been Avis. It worked fine.
