2. Re: Which Rental Car Companies Are Easiest at Airport. All car rental facilities at LAX are off-site, and you will need to take a shuttle from the terminal to get to one. I would stick with the major firms - Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, National, Thrifty.
All of the off-site car rental companies have shuttle vans that have on-board storage for luggage, car seats, etc. If you park within LAX, you'll need to drag all of that from your car to the terminal -- which might involve finding an elevator or staircase, and crossing a bridge from the parking structure to the terminal whereas the off-site ...
Valet parking is available as well. Reserve a spot online to save money and also if you're a AAA member, you can get a discount. I parked my car there for 8 days for about $160. Not bad. A free shuttle takes you to and from the airport, right to your terminal (the driver will ask you which airline you're flying and drive you to it).

I came to prefer the Parking Spot at Sepulveda and Westchester, and that is one of the things about LA that I miss since returning to NorCal.
Besides saving on the cost of the car, the Hampton Inn charges for overnight parking ($49.50/night) so you'd save $100 in parking along with the cost of 2 days of car rental if you postponed picking up the car right away.
