However, Enterprise does accept debit cards with for any guests as ling as they have a round trip ticket and an out of state license.
Great post, but no one answered the original question. Does anyone have personal experience with a rental company that accepts debit cards. This is only one example, another example is someone who has bad credit or a bankruptcy and can't get a credit card but still needs to travel and rent a car and has a debit card and plenty of money on it.
Debit cards are accepted for payment at the end of your rental. In most cases, the location will perform a credit check for debit card customers to determine credit worthiness at the time of rental. The customer must meet the minimum criteria to rent using a debit card.
It is usually a bad idea to use a debit card for car rental because of the hold that the rental car companies will put on your money. You can ask how much of a hold they'll require ahead of time but it is normal business practice for that to occur. Hotels will also place a hold on your money when using a debit card.
