    Bolar Mountain Recreation Area is in a remote area of south western VA, near the border of West Virginia. Because it's our first family camping trip, I'm starting at 4-stars.     As for the water in September, it's usually warmer than in June. Right now, the ocean is in the high 60s low 70s (which feels mighty nice when it's 95 out I must say) cause the Gulf Stream has just snaked its' way up to us to bring warmer water. By Sept, we've been in the Gulf Stream for 2 to 3 months, so it's usually high 70s or even low 80s.
