We rented a car from Hertz, our first mistake. To make a long story short, the 72 hour rental (June 9th @ noon to June 12th, at 7:00 A.M.) cost us approximately $132.00.

We recently used Hertz in Miami - $4.95 per day / Max of $24.95 plus actual toll charges. Charges trickled in over a couple of weeks after our trip.

There aren't any car rental companiesat the South Terminal, so you'll need to take a shuttle to the main terminal. You can find one out front of the South Terminal, they run about every 15 minutes or so, but they do sometimes fill up, so you might not catch "the next one."
