Re: Hawaiian does not allow earn miles for wife. "she has to have her own account and has to purchase the ticket separately." She does have to have her own frequent flier account but anyone can pay for her ticket in order for her to get the miles. It does not have to be separate from yours.
I've held a BofA Hawaiian Miles card for many years. And I have transferred miles from lots of different accounts over the years (mothers, fathers, husband and friends accounts). The most recent transaction was less than 2 months ago, and from my moms account over to mine.

Plan to fly with them again next year and have just realised that between us with the Hawaiian Miles we accumulated last time there are enough combined to pay for 1 airfare. Problem is they are all on individual accounts and it would appear that you have to have an Hawaiian Credit Card in order to share the miles and combine them to one account.

They charge a lot for the codeshares, whether it's miles or money! You are better off to save the miles and pay for tickets. Report inappropriate content.
