The BA website uses Verified by Visa and MasterCard Secure Code as part of the booking process, so if you were asked to provide that password and it was accepted then the booking should have been completed. If I were in your situation I would call BA in the UK: 011 44 491 7901 from 0700 until 2000 GMT.

The only ID you need to check in at the airport machines is the Executive Club card. Second suggestion - if possible check in online and print out your boarding pass.
