So both bookings were made through Expedia and one was cancelled directly by BA.
The information available includes dates of travel, origin and destination, cabin / class of service and the locator code for the booking. I don't think BA are responsible for your fee, they probably charged it in GBP and then your bank/credit/debit card company are levying a fee as a result. Obviously BA have no control over what your financial institution charges. Also British AIRWAYS not British Airlines.
Now phone the BA Exec club number instead of the standard phone number. (or of course phone it straight away if you are already a member) I got through on that number last week when I was getting that phone message & the hang up on the main number.
