The hotel sites that offer AAA discounts have a place where you select AAA rate which is about 15% when booking online or will give the discount when showing up on the day.
15 years ago. Hi. I have made myself an expert on evaluation of rental car rates over the past 3 months. Now I cannot speak for Canadian AAA membership, but I know that I could save at least 10% on a posted rate. But, and there is a catch! You must watch carefully that they do not apply this savings to a "market" rate.

Car rental rates fluctuate almost as much as airfares, so it pays to check from time to time to see if you can get a better rate. I agree with what has been said about using AAA rates it you are not member. That is basically fraud. If you want to book a AAA rate, then you need to pony up and join AAA. It's worth every penny, IMO.
