It is a must visit when you travel around Matale. Nalanda gedige is a buddhist shrine house made in Hindu architecture between 8th-10th centuries. It's initial place was at Bowathanna reservoir and it was considered as the center of Sri Lanka. Nalanda gedige is situated about 1Km from Naula town. ( Naula is in between Matale and Dambulla).
