    Christmas/NY (and Chinese New Year) are few of the most celebrated festivals in KL and other major cities in Malaysia. Especially KL, you will nothing will be closed but open, some for extend from the standard 12 hrs to 16hrs or 24 hrs even!

    We are flying into KL just before Christmas and was thinking we would spend 6 nights in Ipoh (including Christmas), 6 nights in Penang (including NYE). Older parents then go to KL for a couple of nights before flying out; young adults go to Langkawi for a further week.

    You would certainly have a good Christmas here and as many turkey dinners as you want. You need to be aware that Malaysian schools have their long 6 week holiday from the last week of November through to January. That means many places book up for the Christmas period with Malaysian families plus the rest of the world flies in then.

    Malaysia now appears to have the 2nd highest number of new cases per Million of the population outside India. We have all been warned that that it is going to get worse and to expect a vertical surge in cases over the next 2 weeks. As a result the streets are empty as people try and stay at home only going out for food and medicines.
