With no further advice from the social media team, we reached out to Hertz customer service (customer-relations@hertz.com) requesting they confirm (per the social media team advice) that our contract would be honoured, and whether we would be notified the alternate location in advance.

Six of us in a family group travelled from Australia. We travelled in the shuttle from LAX to the site to collect the car.
On a different note, I rented a Hertz for 3 weeks, had an issue and tried numerous ways to contact Hertz. Emails, Facebook, direct to rental/return locations, even phone (apart from the emergency number). Now a month later and STILL waiting to hear from Hertz. Hertz customer service is non-existent in Europe.

When I complained to Hertz customer service they said there was nothing they could do because it's a franchise branch. Almost 4 weeks later they haven't responded to the complaint either to me or to Hertz corporate and won't answer the phone when you call. DO NOT rent from them or any Hertz franchise unit. There is no customer support!

Please do not ever rent from Hertz. They do not treat customers well at all. They charged me twice for a car that I rented for one week and there is no way to get in touch with anyone via telephone in customer service. There are many phone numbers you can find online but they all go to an automated voicemail.
