Al-Ahram. Al-Ahram ( Arabic: الأهرام; lit. 'The Pyramids' ), founded on 5 August 1876, is the most widely circulating Egyptian daily newspaper, and the second oldest after Al-Waqa'i' al-Misriyya ( The Egyptian Events, founded 1828). [2] It is majority owned by the Egyptian government, and is considered a newspaper of record for Egypt.
The magazine is published weekly by Al Ahram Organisation which also publishes Al Ahram Weekly, Al Siyassa Al Dawliya, Al Ahram Al Arabi, Al Ahram Al Iktisadi and Al Ahram. Anwar Abdrabou and Ibrahim Hegazi are the former editors-in-chief of the magazine. On 28 June 2014, Khaled Tawheed was appointed editor-in-chief of the weekly.
