If you aren't concerned with seeing any sights south of New Haven, another option would be to take Amtrak from BWI-New Haven (as low as $55 when booked in advance) and rent a car from there, looks to be quite a bit cheaper.

   1 year ago. Yes, there's a big easy parking deck directly adjacent to the Amtrak/MARC station, it was $9 a day, overnights fine, easy in easy out. I've used it to ride Amtrak instead of parking near downtown Baltimore Penn Station. Being that BWI is right off 95/195/295 its even easier than getting to Penn.

I've used it multiple times before when flying out of BWI (it's the cheapest covered lot with a frequent shuttle to the airport) and had no problems whatsoever. The lot is gigantic so I highly doubt it'd be full. Edited: 2 years ago.
