Answer 1 of 6: I haven't been to Kansas City or a Chiefs game in many years, but will be coming back for a visit and game in October. We used to stay in Crown Center and take a Chiefs Express bus to and from the stadium, and it was great.

Cabela's is out west where I-70 and 435 meet in KC Kansas. Take 435 south from Cabela's and loop around the edge of town to 35 south. Best wishes on your travels.

Assuming it is afternoon, I would leave Topeka a little before 3PM. I would take I-70 to I-435 north, to M-152 east to I-35. Google would send you I-635 to I-29 to I-35, which might save 3-4 minutes ...

My husband and I are planning to visit KC for the second time, primarily so that we can go to a Chiefs game (tickets are already purchased). We visited in 2019, and stayed near the Power and Light District.
Re: best hotel/location to stay if going to a Royals game. If you are still looking, the Westport Hotel 816 is a good hotel and maybe less expensive than the Plaza and the Power & Light area. Seldom is there public transportation or shuttles to the game. Plaza, Westport or Power and Light are your best options.
