Hertz Dollar Thrifty gas receipt scam. 6 years ago. Hertz owns Dollar and Thrifty. It's been almost two years since I used them. The reason for the boycott is their gas receipt policy. They had just implemented it when this hapoened. None of my paperwork or signage was up in the pick up or return locations.

Sadly they had many cars in the lot but they were considered upgrades and price gauging customers if they wanted a car. I had a full size reserved on a corporate account (business trip).
Some Hertz locations are just that - painful to deal with. Others are nicer. Hertz 800 number is 1 (800) 654-4173 so you might want to see if they can direct you to someone who is not at the location you rented from. (I would not give it much hope but I would suggest trying to contact people outside of the location you rented from if possible).
