Re: Avis car rental. The $1,000 sounds like the standard excess. Its quite easy to prove either way if you have (or have not) put the wrong fuel in the car. If they maintain the claim you have fuelled with the wrong type, then ask for proof (as in garage certificate to say they had to repair the car /drain fuek tank).
