All rentals are subject to meeting licence requirements and client must have two forms of ID to qualify. A hold will be placed on the card for a minimum of $250.00 Florida or $350 all other locations. Debit cards will not be accepted at time of rental in New York, Hartford CT, Philadelphia PA, Boston MA and Detroit MI.
Great post, but no one answered the original question. Does anyone have personal experience with a rental company that accepts debit cards. This is only one example, another example is someone who has bad credit or a bankruptcy and can't get a credit card but still needs to travel and rent a car and has a debit card and plenty of money on it.
