It's neat to just drive around and see all the old buildings, some from post-civil war ( i.e. 1873),and the homes of the Naval Officers that would have been stationed here. The Yard does still have some Naval presence and there are many "moth-balled" Naval ships and the aircraft carrier U.S.S. John F Kennedy is moored there too.
