Thanks guys, appreciate the responses. Dollar has a note in the small print saying that IF you are in a state that has tolls, they recommend using a Plate Pass. Being from NY, I know a lot about tolls and I definitely would not want to have to pay cash at the toll booth, the lines are crazy if you dont have a pass. 4.
Just a heads up. HERTZ has "platepass" for Tolls. I opted out and used my own ezpass. However I still got charged by this 3rd party money making scham. It's been 3 weeks dealing directly with platepass and still not resolved. Even after I provided my detailed EZPass statement.
Re: Toll charge payment for rental car. From my experience, Hertz takes around a week to process the toll charges, which are then compiled and charged to the same card you used for the rental. The toll tag is included in the rental rate, so the additional charge is just for the actual toll charges accrued + 25% VAT. 6.
