Hi all - we're long time Shelter Cove Piggly Wiggly shoppers and understand that it has closed, and a new Kroger has opened nearby at the old mall. We have to find a new store when we come to the island this year in June.
14 years ago. Bi-Lo is the closest to where you are staying and is a very nice grocery store. While I love both Food Lion and Kroger too as I shop at all three depending on who has what on sale, I think for sure Bi-Lo has the nicest store out of them. You will pass by there on your way. There is a Kroger and Lowes Foods on up the road a bit and a Wal Mart about 4 miles north of you.

Even though we were within walking distance, we couldn't carry all of our heavy items. Plus, we didn't want to waste precious time going to the store! Just an option.....
Both are good grocery stores. The Piggly Wiggly has more take out and is stocked more with tourist-needed things like Boogie Boards, etc, with the Bi-Lo having a smaller section, less take out, and is more a "locals" grocery store. 3.
There's a BiLo Grocery in Pawley's Island - 115 Willbrook Blvd., Pawley's Island, SC 29585. It's 4.8 miles from Huntington Beach State Park. The prices are very reasonable. There's a Walmart neighborhood market at 11980 Frontage Rd, Murrells Inlet, SC - It's 6.9 miles from the park. There's also a Walmart supercenter at 545 Garden City ...
