   2. Re: Which Rental Car Companies Are Easiest at Airport. All car rental facilities at LAX are off-site, and you will need to take a shuttle from the terminal to get to one. I would stick with the major firms - Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, National, Thrifty.

   I rented a premium SUV - Suburban or similar, from Thrifty LAX airport. Rented online and prepaid for the rental for 10 days rental. Upon arriving at the rental office, lines were long, we waited over 1 hr to get to the desk.

Having paid £290 in advance for an all inclusive 16 day mid-sized rental I was told by the agent at the desk that I had to pay an extra $360 before I could take the car.

In my experience, a 50 min wait IS excessive, but it's happened to me (even at Enterprise, the largest car rental agency in the world).

   We rented a Suburban from Thrifty at LAX on October 31, 2021. I was immediately concerned when I found out that the vehicle had close to 50,000 miles on it. But the Thrifty representative assured me the vehicle had been serviced and was fully functional.
