Hi. Hertz's CDW is one of the best, and as a UK renter you'll have that and SLI. No main exclusions as long stay within the terms of the agreement, so no need to worry about existing damage too much (you won't get a damage list/tick sheet), but check it over and take a few pictures if it helps you feel more confident.

Thanks for the advice again. Hertz was great at LAX. We received a text as we landed telling us which spot our car was in and the type. Since this was our first rental as a gold club member we thought we would have to go in to register. We did not which was great. They do have a separate office for gold members with fewer people in line though.
Now, Hertz's failure to honor our confirmed reservation left us out of pocket - the fare on the shuttle, taxi from hotel to Hertz Seaside, and the relocation or drop fee from Seaside to SFO (we had to return to SFO four days later). I have written to Hertz's head office (Oklahoma City) with documentation of our extra costs. No reply.

Humm, with the Hertz gold service one gets an email with the car location and one can just pick up the car, show the DL to the guard at the gate and drive.The hertz site advertises hertz gold so if one chooses to ignore that info, well not sure what we can say.

Unless your gold status qualifes you for pickup at the arrivals terminal you'll get on the bus a make the pilgrimage down to the rent-a-car depot.
Hi. Just to comment on the differing clauses issue. My recent experience was with Alamo, not Hertz, but we had this same discrepancy recently. I phoned up and queried it all and was told that, because I'd phoned and booked via the UK operation, but the business was with the US operation, I was seeing in my confirmation the clauses as issued in the USA but was receiving the benefits from ...
