It is at least 6 hours driving time only to take the I-70/highway 40/ Trail Ridge Road route to Cheyenne. Good news is from Denver all the way to Loveland, CO, it is great scenery. Even parts of I-25 to Cheyenne can be scenic. Almost any route you take would involve about 6 hours driving time.

260 helpful votes. 12. Re: Denver to Cheyenne. Jun 20, 2024, 8:48 PM. Assuming that you are starting at the Denver Airport, go to Cheyenne via Hwy 85. DO NOT go on the toll road ( E470 ). It is not scenic but between Greeley and Cheyenne you might see Pronghorn Antelope. In Cheyenne there is a railroad museum.
