There is no mention of a charge for a 65+ driver. I called them and got the same information. I think there is some misunderstanding here.

Ireland is where I think the 70 year age limit kicks in. You can rent an automatic but it will cost much more. Also I think they are not available everywhere, you may need to rent ...
I think each company goes on what they can get insurance for. I do think though some may be weary about older people about hiring their vehicles as they are the most likely to potentially get confused behind the wheel.

As long as you have a license you are good to go. Have a great time! Many of us find the best car rental prices through Costco or Discount Hawaii Car Rental.They both work with the main companies yet better prices.
