Once you redeem the voucher, the new flight booking rules take over. So when you (or Qatar) cancel the second reservation, you will be "refunded" in kind. Since you paid with a voucher, you get another voucher. And the current rules apply to that new voucher, not the terms of your first booking.
Answer 11 of 16: I haven't noticed it posted - but that doesn't mean that it has been and I've just missed it - but Qatar have a promo code available for anyone flying (on select routes) before 15 December 2023.

Prices vary quite a lot depending upon the date(s) of travel - I checked the Skyscanner prices for the LGW <> GOI direct flight with Air India on our dates and the cheapest offering listed (Travel Junction - rating 3/5) would save us roughly £50 each compared to booking via the Air India website.
