The mall opened in 1970 and is the oldest mall in Brevard County, Florida. Its original anchor stores were Jordan Marsh (later Burdines, now Macy's), Ivey's (now Dillard's), and J. C. Penney. It remained unchanged until 1985, when a renovation plan was announced which would add 60,000 square feet (5,600 m 2) of retail space.
Surprising. Review of Melbourne Square Mall. Reviewed May 3, 2021. We have been to the area for years and have never stopped. From the main road the large stores appeared shuttered. We stumbled upon it this year and spent the morning walking and shopping. Nice and cool. Good place to spend a rainy day.
