    This is very true; even banks will not accept old bills especially if they are torn. And another thing to realize in bringing in US cash --- that though $50 and $100 bills are accepted at banks for changing to EC dollars; they are not at grocery stores, some restaurants, etc. Better to bring $20s --

    More likely you have about $70 Mxn pesos, or roughly $3.75 US equivalent. I doubt that you will find a source to 'exchange' your Mexican pesos coins back into US currency, other than what maybe goggans17 has suggested.
