   15 helpful votes. 2. Re: Best/Worst Car Rental Companies - HNL. 7 years ago. I've used pretty much all the companies at HNL (the mainstream ones - Hertz, Budget, Avis, Enterprise, Thrifty, Dollar and Alamo). I would say go by price.. The last four are off the airport, so it is a little slower.

   Hey PB the big names are off-site too. On-site big names are: Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz and National. Off-site big names are: Alamo, Dollar and Thrifty. When you reserve on DiscountCarRental (website you listed) for pick up at the airport, they could send you to one of the off-site big name companies as well.
