However only if you come from Philippines to USA or vice versa then Korea is the lay over or transit country. As you said you need to stay there for 5 days then it's not possible unless you get Korea Visa.

Im travelling to Korea end of 2023 coming from Doha. Im German Passport holder, so im one of 22 Countrys who isnt need a K-ETA for Entry Korea until 31.Dec'24. I do know that in South Korea they do not Stamp on the Passports anymore, they stick you a QR Code (Entry Confirmation) in youre Passport.
